AirAssess Acquires Aerial By Drone

AirAssess has acquired Aerial by Drone (AbD), a Sydney based drone services company that has serviced the Australian insurance and building industry since early 2016.

AbD provides rapid drone inspection services to a range of corporate and government clients across Australia and was one of the first drone companies to be embedded in the claims assessment process through their early partnership with Crawford and Company. AbD has been involved in some significant projects and drone deployments, including Cyclone Debbie in 2017.

As an experienced drone operations company and data driven technology business, the acquisition of AbD enables AirAssess to further strengthen its position in the sector on the back of its tremendous growth in 2018. From 1 January 2019, AbD will cease to operate independently and the team will join the AirAssess company, ensuring AbD clients continue to receive excellent service and support under the AirAssess brand.

“There is always a lot of hype around drones being used in commercial applications, but in reality a small percentage of companies actually succeed to implement the technology in a way that becomes BAU (business as usual), providing enduring value beyond the initial hype. AbD’s success in the insurance and building sector will enable AirAssess to grow on its own success while providing an even better level of service to our partners.”
